Richmond Middle & High Schools

Limited scope accessibility survey services for the middle and high school structure; services supplemented the Richmond, Maine School System's own evaluation and building assessment.

Dyer School, So. Portland, Me.

Full accessibility survey services for existing 30,000 sq. ft. elementary school structure and site. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, and a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan]. Also included consulting on signage requirements throughout.

Redbank School, So. Portland, Me.

Full accessibility survey services for existing 30,000 sq. ft. elementary school structure and site. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, and a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan]. Consulting services on signage requirements also included.

South Portland School Department

Full accessibility survey and evaluation services for the 160,000 sq. ft. High School facility and a 95,000 sq. ft. Middle School and for nine (9) other elementary and middle school structures. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, and a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan].

Fairview & Sherwood Heights Elementary Schools, Auburn, Me

On-site and plan reviews and recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility to two existing elementary schools undergoing renovations and additions.

Town of Poland Community School Playground

Plan review and recommendations for the proposed upgrades of the elementary school / town playground at the Poland Community School.

Montello Elementary School Playgrounds, Lewiston, Me.

Observations, documentation, and recommendations for improving playground accessibility at the Montello Elementary School. Elements evaluated include entrances, accessible routes, playground surfacing, and play structures.

Good Will-Hinckley School, Hinckley, Me.

Consultation services for accessibility improvements and modifications to miscellaneous school facilities. Services included equipment recommendations, plan review & recommendations for programmatic and barrier removal design solutions, and budget estimates for proposed modifications.

Woolwich Central School, Woolwich, Me.

Limited scope accessibility survey and evaluation services for the existing Central School site and structures. The evaluation consisted of a general overall assessment of the facility only for the purpose of establishing and presenting the level of non-compliance to the school board and identifying those major barriers to accessibility needing immediate attention to provide a basic level of access.

Woodland Junior & Senior High School, Baleyville, Me.

Full accessibility survey services for existing 30,000 sq. ft. school structure and site. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, budget estimates, a recommended transition plan [implementation plan of recommendations], and a public presentation of the report and recommendations.

Boothbay Region High School Facility

Full accessibility survey services for existing 41,000 sq. ft. high school structure and site in Boothbay, Maine. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, budget estimates, a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan], and a public presentation of the report and recommendations.

Baxter Hall at Mackworth Island, Falmouth, Me.

Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Recommendations for providing independent entry, access, and usability to the first floor level of Baxter Hall, owned and operated by the Baxter School for the Deaf. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of written recommendations and sketches for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, and budget estimates.

MSAD #75, Topsham, Me.

Preliminary evaluation of present Brunswick High School site and building barriers to accessibility at specific portions of the building(s) for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The specific purpose of the evaluation is to satisfy the accessibility concerns of the school district in Topsham which is considering leasing part of the Brunswick High School complex for five years until funds are available to construct a new middle school in Topsham. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, and the development of written recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements.

Skillin Elementary School, So. Portland, Me.

Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Recommendations of a newly constructed school facility for evaluating the level of compliance with newly enacted ADA Accessibility Regulations. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, and the development of written recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements.

York High School, York, Me.

Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Recommendations for improving accessibility at three existing ramps within the York High School lobby and abutting hallways. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, and the development of written recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements.

York Middle School, York, Me.

Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Recommendations for the existing middle school in York, Maine. Services included on-site observations of barriers to accessibility, and a verbal public presentation of recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements.

Maine College of Art, Portland, Me.

Access Design and Consultation Services for the renovation and adaptive re-use of the existing Porteous Building in downtown Portland, Maine for the new Maine College of Art classroom building. Services included on-site observations of existing conditions prior to construction, design consultation throughout the development of the project, and reviews of construction documents prior to start of construction. Consultation Services were also maintained during construction on an as needed basis.

Madison Schools Consultation

Preliminary accessibility evaluations of two elementary and one junior high school structure in Madison, Maine for providing physical accessibility into and floor to floor access within each school. Services included on-site documentation, preliminary reports on each structure, projected budget estimates, and an access committee presentation.

Winthrop, Maine Middle and High Schools

Expert Witness and Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Evaluation Services in support of a complaint and lawsuit filed against the Winthrop School Department. The evaluation was done to determine the level of non-compliance at the existing schools to support the complaint and lawsuit. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a written report documenting applicable regulations and outstanding violations, and deposed personal testimony defending the report.

Husson College, Bangor, Me.

Expert Witness and Limited Scope Accessibility Survey and Evaluation Services in support of a complaint and lawsuit filed against Husson College. The evaluation was done to determine the level of non-compliance at the existing schools to support the complaint and lawsuit. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a written report documenting applicable regulations and outstanding violations, and deposed personal testimony defending the report.

Mount Desert Elementary School Facility

Full accessibility survey services for existing 32,000 sq. ft. elementary school structure and site in Northeast Harbor, Maine. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, budget estimates, and a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan].

North Yarmouth Academy, Yarmouth, Me.

Campus-wide accessibility survey and evaluation of site conditions and nine academic related structures including three protected historic properties...the David Shepley House, Russell Hall [c.1841], and Academy Hall [c.1848].

Conners - Emerson School, Bar Harbor, Me.

Full accessibility survey services for two existing elementary and middle school structures and site in Bar Harbor, Maine. Services included on-site documentation of barriers to accessibility, the development of a detailed report with recommendations for programmatic and physical accessibility improvements, budget estimates, and a recommended transition plan [barrier removal implementation plan].
