Hear in Maine
Alpha One is developing a “clearing house” regarding hearing aid need and acquisition within Maine. The project is called Hear in Maine.
A primary goal is to offer people a resource to call to find out if they’re eligible for various funding supports, hearing aid programs and services, and where to find them.
We will try to accomplish this through the development of a comprehensive database to include audiologists, hearing aid vendors, and financial resources. We will be tracking people from beginning to end through this process.
Going forward, we will be looking to create a refurbishing program in other areas of Maine, by collecting donated hearing aids, getting them refurbished and giving them to individuals identified in the process.
