Mobile classroom for Deaf goes live
Sign Net is an innovative new computer outreach training program serving Maine’s Deaf community.
The program aims to serve people in rural areas of Maine through a simple 10 week curriculum. The classes will improve people’s access to independent living services and resources in the community.The program will also provide methods of obtaining and distributing low-cost computers to persons who are Deaf.
Outreach and service for this program will be conducted by Alpha One in collaboration with the Maine Center on Deafness, the Rehabilitation Services Administration, the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, the Department ofLabor’s Career Centers, and the Department of Education Adult Education Services.
