Maine SILC public hearings
The Maine Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) is seeking input on the development of its next 3-year State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). 5 open public hearings will be held as follows:
- Bangor: March 31, 2010, 1 pm - 3 pm, Alpha One, 1048 Union St., Ste. 2
- Fairbanks: April 7, 2010, 2 pm - 5 pm, Fairbanks School Meeting House, 508-A Fairbanks Rd.
- Presque Isle: April 8, 2010, 1 pm - 3 pm, Career Center, 66 Spruce St.
- South Portland: April 8, 2010, 1 pm - 3 pm, Alpha One, 127 Main St.
- Augusta: April 16, 2010, 10 am – 12 pm, Central Maine Commerce Center, Frances Perkins Conference Room, 45 Commerce Drive
All hearings are open to the public and held in locations accessible to people with disabilities. Materials will be provided in alternative formats. If you need additional accommodations or information please contact the Maine SILC at 207-485-6805.
If you cannot attend the public hearings you can submit written comments to the Maine SILC by Friday April 30, 2010. Comments may be sent via mail to SILC, PMB 200, 126 Western Ave., Augusta, ME 04330 or email to mainesilc6@hotmail.com .
Maine SILC is an independent federally mandated council that advances independent living by engaging in or supporting research, publication, employment, community organizing, advocacy, and systems reform. All public hearings will be held at fully accessible sites with ASL interpreters available at Bangor, Augusta, and South Portland. Remote CART will be provided as needed at all sites.
